BMW unveiled the 8 Series family a little over a week ago (see the related hyperlinks below), which includes the 8 Series Coupe and Gran Coupe. Alpina will now unveil its updated Gran Coupe. It follows the same path as its Bavarian brothers with minor modifications. The starting price for sales will be EUR162,100, or approximately $182,505 depending on current exchange rates.
There aren’t many visual modifications to be reported. The B8 Gran Coupe The front fascia will now feature an illuminated grille and the exclusive green and blue exterior finishes. Alpina customers also have the option to choose from a variety of BMW or BMW Individual paint finishes. Alpina’s 20-spoke wheels feature a classic Alpina job. They are available with 245/35 ZR21 Front Pirelli tires and 285/30 ZR21 Rear Pirelli tires. For your winter set, you can order another set of 20-inch wheels in the same design.
The cabin features the same dual-screen layout as the 8 Series family’s facelifted model. Standard equipment on the B8 Gran Coupe includes the 12.3-inch Live Cockpit Professional display, which replaces the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The interior has a refined appearance thanks to the illuminated Alpina door sills, and iDrive controller in crystal glass with a Lazered Alpina logo. The automaker claims that each steering wheel is finished with natural leather.
The B8 Gran Coupe retains the same 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 engine, but there are no modifications. It produces 621 horsepower (457 Kilowatts) as well as 590 pound-feet (890 Newton-meters). The stylish sedan is mated to an eight speed torque-converter auto, which can reach speeds of 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standing stop in 3.4 seconds. Alpina can offer many customization options if the B8 Gran Coupe’s standard colors and material combinations don’t meet your needs.
