It is currently being tested in Europe.
spotted the next-generation Honda CR-V in March. We had only distant spy photos that showed the basic shape and dimensions of the ( non-so ) compact SUV. We are pleased to share with you a new set of photos, which shows the new CR-V during testing on public roads in Germany.
This prototype was seen wearing its full-body camouflage earlier in the morning. We see the final production headlights using LED technology. Also, we can see the chrome strip connecting the clusters and splitting them into a split layout. The large grille features a hexagonal grille design and the Honda logo at its center.
The new CR-V is generally larger than the previous model. The new CR-V’s hood is flatter and wider, with the addition of side mirrors that are moved from the base A-pillars to doors. This gives the impression of a mature design. The SUV’s rear overhang is slightly longer than the current CRV, giving it a more angular appearance.
We can see that the prototype has five seats. It is unclear if the next-generation model will get a three-row version. The CR-V is only available in a five-seat configuration in the United States. However, that could change when its successor arrives. Side note: The CR-V has seven seats in certain regions.
We don’t know much about what the new CRV is made of, but the prototype shows twin exhaust pipes at its back. This suggests that there may be a combustion engine underneath. We expect Honda will heavily rely on electrified powertrains, and there are rumors of a fully-electric version being developed later in the model’s lifespan.
We are confident that the SUV will make its debut next year, considering how little has changed in the last CR-V. It could be available in the United States as a 2023 version, if this assumption holds true.
