BRABUS will try to scare away many supercars during the 2009 Dubai Motor Show with its fireball-caughing bituro GLK V12.
BRABUS, the music icon, has claimed yet another fastest-inthe-world record for this GLK V12. The Mercedes-Benz GLK-based driver was tested at an Italian high speed track in August for its top speed. It can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and 0 – 200km/h (211 mph) in 12.8 seconds. According to the press release, it was able to reach speeds of 322.3 km/h (211 miles per hour), making it the fastest street legal SUV in the world.
It is a huge undertaking. This includes the installation of a huge 6.3-litre V12 biturbo engine with two large turbochargers and more efficient intercoolers. It also includes a stainless-steel exhaust system.
Maximum power is 552kW (750hp), at 5,500rpm, and peak torque at 2,100rpm is 1,350Nm (995lb-ft). BRABUS has however restricted the torque to 1,100Nm (811 lbft). The rear wheels are connected to this 5-speed automatic gearbox via a limited slip differential and a locking rate 40 percent.
Exterior kit includes a spoiler lip made of carbon fibre, a front apron that has large air dams and BRABUS WIDESTAR fender flaws that increase the width by 5 cm (2 inches), underside LED lights, a BRABUS roof spoiler which reduces aerodynamic lift, and a BRABUS stainless steel sport exhaust system.
Customers have five options of wheel designs, ranging from 10Jx22 to Pirelli or Yokohama tyres up to 285/25 ZR 22, available.
You can order a customized interior with wood trim or carbon fiber panels, full leather upholstery and optional Alcantara elements.
The Dubai International Motor Show will feature the BRABUS GLK V12, which is priced at 397,000 Euros.
