We first heard rumors about a sedan GT 86 sedan, and now we have a render of the four-door model. This is supposedly close to production.
Yesterday was the day that rumors of a sedan GT86 sedan surfaced. Now we have a render showing the four-door model, which is close to being produced.
Theophilus Chinis the artist behind these renderings. He originally envisioned a red sedan GT 86 back at 2011 but now he has updated his work with a black car that looks more appropriate for a production model. The four-door GT 86 with a 100mm longer wheelbase will be available if it is approved for production. It could be displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019.
According to reports, the car will be available as a standard model with the coupe’s 2.0-liter Boxer engine. However, an optional hybrid arrangement derived form the Yaris-R concept can also be offered with up to 268 bhp (268 kW) and a KERS similar to F1 cars.
The market launch is expected to take place towards the end 2015, with pricing in the same area as the coupe.
