2021 Ram 1500 TRX – Spyshots and Rumors

Do you want a V8 supercharged truck?

It’s been tested, and it’s here. It is now official that Ram will launch the 1500 truck in a performance version. In a press release, the automaker stated that “the Ram Rebel TRX” concept was approved for production. Here’s what we know so far about the V8 monster truck.

What is it?

The 1500 Rebel TRX is a direct competitor to the Ford Raptor. It features a V8 engine and other performance tweaks to suspension, steering and looks. Another TR version with a naturally-aspirated V8 is also in development.

The super truck, which was seen at Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan earlier this year, will have a blacked out appearance. The truck will also have visual upgrades such as fender extensions that expose fasteners and dual exhaust pipe. The prototypes were equipped with all-terrain tires with beadlock-style wheels, but this could be an option for the production model.

What is under the hood?

Although it isn’t confirmed by Ram, knows that the 1500 Rebel TRX will be equipped with a supercharged V8 mated via a 10-speed auto transmission. Through ARB Air Lockers located at both axles, a peak power output of 707 horsepower (527kilowatts), will reach all four wheels. Ram tested an engine with Dodge Demon’s 626-kW (607-hp) engine, but it is highly unlikely that it will be made into production.

According to reports, the performance truck will be equipped with dual Bilstein shocks at every corner. These photos show the truck’s high ride height. For better stopping power, there will be upgraded brakes. The spy shots revealed that the truck had eight lugs in the rear and six up front.

It will be here when we see it.

Ram has not yet announced a launch date for 1500 Rebel TRX. The best we can offer at this point is our educated guess. It is expected that the performance truck will be available in 2021, which would likely mean it will arrive in 2020’s second half.
