BMW M3 E46CSL gets a G-POWER V10 motor from the BMW M-series. It produces 550 horsepower
G-Power, a BMW tuner, first revealed the powerful 5.0L V10 engine of a BMW M5 to an E46 M3 CSL.
The M3 CSL in stock form is quite powerful with 360 horsepower and 370 Nm torque. However, this is not the right way to go for the tuning company based in northern Germany. The V10 engine’s added weight means that the power-to-weight ratio is still improved from 3.9 to 2.7 kg/hp. G-Power still needs the engine conversion to produce 550hp, 38 Nm torque and 558 Nm. The time it takes to go from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.8 seconds to 4.2, and from 0 to 200 km/h it is a frightening 11.6 seconds. The top speed jumps from 285 km/h up to 335 km/h. G-Power enlisted the help of suspension manufacturer KW Automotive to test and tune its suspension to handle the sheer power.
G-Power says that the exterior of the M3 CSL remains unchanged. However, we noticed an extra air intake hole at the passenger side. This is a nice touch. G-Power mounted their concave 10-double spoke Silverstone Diamond wheels in 21-inch. The Silverstone wheels weigh less than stock M wheels, despite the two-piece appearance of the faux screw fittings.
G-Power also offers a V10 engine conversion for the E91 3 Series Coupe, M3 and Z4 as well as the X5 and X5. G-Power currently has a twin-supercharger for the 5.0L V10 motor. It is expected to produce 640hp at entry level and 750hp at higher levels. There are no details yet about model applications for this twin supercharged kit.
