Bright LEDs shine brightly
The new Ford F-150 is almost here. Many spy photosshowing inside and outside have been seen. We also learned a lot from leaked information. Ford announced that the unveiling date of the new truck would be June 25. Ford now offers a glimpse at the new truck’s eyes via a teaser posted on its main website.
We can see the truck’s new eyes, that is. This teaser, which is intentionally darkened to highlight the LED treatment on the fog and headlights, highlights that LED strip trimming. This feature is also prominently seen in spy photos. In fact, the entire front has been captured in spy shots.FordPrototypes were displayed on public roads by the company with a simple camo wrap that concealed design elements. We have seen many grilles and the new shape of the headlights, and even though it is a brand new truck, the overall design approach seems conservative, at least in terms of exterior design.
However, this teaser photo offers something new. The black-and-white head view shows a squared off truck. The raised hood section is pronounced and the LED strips are very close to the fenders. F-Series enthusiasts who look long enough at this image may even be able to see shades of the seventh-generation truck with its squared headlights. This was produced in the mid-80s.
What will the new F-150 look like?
It will all change once the lights are on. Many have described the new F-150 as looking like a mix of the Ram 1500, and the GMC Sierra. We expect to see a large touchscreen infotainment screen inside, which will also be familiar to F-150 owners. For most functions, buttons and manual controls will be present. However, digital instrument displays are available on some models.
The powertrain should also include a turbocharged six-cylinder or V8 engine option with four-wheel drive and a strong axle turning the rear wheels. You don’t want to be the most popular vehicle in America so you can keep it that way. However, the next-generation F-150 will offer an electric model.
In no time, June 25 will be here. Ford will host a livestream event to celebrate the big reveal. You can watch it live at Motor1.com beginning at 8:00 PM EDT.
