The latest Hyundai model, codenamed DM in Korea is the Santa Fe. It incorporates Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design language and adopts an aggressive style that Hyundai calls Storm Edge. It features a hexagonal grille at its center, a two-tone body kit, and wider front- and rear bumpers. This creates a futuristic, urban-style SUV image.
The dynamic side character lines lend a more aerodynamic appearance, which gives the vehicle a premium feel. Hyundai suggests that the next generation of Hyundai SUVs will feature this aggressive, premium design.
Although engines are not yet known, rumors suggest that a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder petrol engine with 274 horsepower (204 kW/ 278 PS) as well as 269 lbft (364Nm) of torque will become available.
Since its inception in 2000, the Santa Fe has sold approximately 2.56 million units worldwide (Korea: 680,000/international: 1.95million).
In April, the world’s first public appearance of the all-new Santa Fe III will be held at New York Auto Show.
