Subaru Presents 3 New High-Performance Imprezas

The UK market is currently being offered a 380PS STI version, as well as three new high-performance Imprezas.

Fuji Heavy Industries’ car division will exhibit more of its performance hatches at this year’s British International Motor Show. Three new Special Edition Imprezas are among them. This is a tradition. Subaru and its arch-rival Mistubishi have never hesitated to show off the official-stamped modifications to their performance vehicles. The new Impreza hatch is no exception.

A WRX-S, the first of these three, uses the same 2.5-litre Boxer unit to release 255 PS @ 5,400rpm. This is an increase from 230 PS. Torque goes up from 236 lb.ft (287.6 lb.ft), which is a much greater improvement. The 0-60 mph time drops from 6.1 to 5.5 seconds, making it a STI-like vehicle. Thank you Prodrive

The standard features such as the 6-CD changer with 10-speakers and xenon headlamps are still there. The STI 330S is where the true enthusiast will go (with real cash in the bank). It takes up a healthy 330 PS instead of the usual 300 PS. These numbers help it to fleet straight into Porsche 911 Carrera S. Special 90mm pipes are included with the 330S to help create that nostalgic sound of old-fashioned scoobies. The interior ambience is enhanced by leather-covered Recaro front chairs, Smart-entry, satellite navigation and push-button starting.

Subaru’s 380 PS concept is a potential show-stopper, but it will only go into production if enough fans are enthusiastic. Is that not a joke?
