There was at least a bridge nearby that could catch them all.
The U.S. East Coast has had a difficult summer, particularly in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Many strong storms have poured copious amounts rain almost daily. This CNN video shows that the latest round of precipitation occurred Saturday. It was quite excessive for Little Falls, New Jersey’s car dealership.
You’re right if you think you can see a lot of Dodge Durango SUVs piled up in a river. You can clearly see the Chrysler/Dodge dealership in the background, which is Route 46 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Little Falls. It is located directly alongside the Peckman River which has been flooded along with the nearby Passaic River. It’s not clear if this is just a new car that was swept away by the current. We see a silver car with its windshield wipers at full attack, suggesting the car was still running when the floodwaters struck. No injuries have been reported from this incident, so we hope everyone is safe.
However, the cars are clearly and not acceptable. A Ram pickup is seen tucked against the bridge. We also see a white car, and some other vehicles that we don’t know. While they are being pelted mercilessly by a stream of fast-moving Durangos, bridge-watchers can watch the entire thing unfold. This scene is certainly chaotic, but this was just one of many flooding events that took place in New York City’s suburbs over the weekend.
Although we don’t know the number of cars that were affected by this flood, it is clear that there are still many more to come. The area is currently under flash flood watch until Monday night and into the evening, with more storms and heavy rainfall in the forecast. Our readers to the east should take precautions and be safe.
