The lineup will include an A-Class Sedan as well as a rugged crossover GLB-Class GLB-Class.
Mercedes-Benz appears to be happy with the performance of its front-wheel-drive models such as the CLA-Class, and is planning to launch a new generation of them. Some of these new models might be available for purchase in the United States.
Ola Kallenius, Mercedes boss, tells Driver that eight models are being considered for the MFA2 platform. This stands for Modular Front Wheel-Drive Architecture 2. Five vehicles are currently on the chassis, including the CLA, GLA and B-Class in North America.
These eight vehicles were not named by Kallenius Car or Driver. However, they are easy to guess. There are successors to all of the MFA models. Mercedes’ designers plan to make new vehicles more subtle than the ones they replace. The company plans to add standard and long-wheelbase versions for an A_Class sedan.
This A Sedan concept is the best preview of the upcoming models. Although the four-door is more upright, it still has modern styling thanks to vertical slats in its grille and sweptback front lights. However, the rear roofline isn’t as steep as the CLA-Class.A rugged-looking compact crossover with the class model designation would be the other major addition to this lineup. This vehicle could significantly soften the Ener-G-Force’s hardcore design. It is basically a mini-G-Class. The majority of trims within this range will be all-wheel-drive, although a front-drive model might be found at the bottom. A optional off-road package will reportedly include equipment to support the GLB’s rugged aesthetic.
