The current generation Toyota Prius hybrid was introduced in 2004. It has a futuristic body style and excellent gas mileage. The latest news from Japan states that Toyota will introduce a new generation Prius hybrid in 2008, with more power and better fuel economy.

The Japan Prius will come with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The roof has a solar panel to charge the batteries, and the plug-in charging system is also being looked at.
