It’s also less expensive.
For those looking for a hot hatch, the Fiesta ST is a great option. Ford is the car you should consider if you are looking for the ST’s styling, but less power (and a cheaper price).
According to CarsDirect a FiestaST Line will be available in the U.S. It is the ST Line Fiesta variant, which has been available in European markets for many years. This is a style pack, based on the Fiesta regular but dressed in ST’s clothes. You’ve probably guessed that it won’t provide the same performance as a 198-hp ST.
According to the website, the Fiesta ST Line will have a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. This is in contrast to the EcoBoost-powered EcoBoost engine that powers the Fiesta ST. The output figures for the ST Line’s engine are still “TBD” at this point, but dropping EcoBoost will undoubtedly mean less power from the ST Line.
The ST Line will still look great. According to CarsDirect the ST Line will have the same looks as the ST. It will include the ST’s face, rear spoiler and dual chrome-tipped exhaust. It will receive a smaller set, with 10-spoke, 16 inch, black-painted aluminum wheels, than the 17-inch Rado Gray set. The ST sport suspension is not available.
The ST Line will include bucket seats with sport embossed bolsters and there won’t be an option to upgrade to Recaro sports seats. Standard features include manual air conditioning, 4-way adjustable seats, and a 6-speaker stereo system.
Ford Fiesta ST Line will start at $17,625, $3,715 less than the Fiesta ST. However, a six speed PowerShift slushbox can be purchased as an $1,095 upgrade. The ST Line is a great value proposition for anyone looking for a small and stylish hatchback. It will be up to the buyer’s priorities what you want.
