However, the high-performance version the mid-engined sports car will debut later in the month, specifically on October 26. What are they teasing about now that the Z06 is out of our view?
The Chevrolet Performance clip that follows suggests that we may be dealing with an automobile component, rather than a complete car. One can’t help but wonder if a new crate engine might be in the works, considering the focus of the teaser video on the engine note. The caption to the Instagram photo asks the question: “Can I handle more power?” This is another clue that supports our speculation. History will change on 10.20.21
The hashtags #horsepower, #torque were used in the Instagram post. This gives us more reason to believe that we will see a new crate engine soon. It sounds quite aggressive and brutal, so it is likely to be a large displacement engine. We will also remind you that the track-only 2022 COPO Camaro, which was unveiled at July’s end, is powered by a 9.4-liter big block V8.
Chevrolet Performance offers many other products. They offer transmissions, suspension components and oily bits. The new product does not sound like the 2018 eCOPO Camaro, a concept car that showcases a future where performance enthusiasts can purchase electric crate engines.
It’s refreshing to hear the sound of an old-fashioned combustion engine. With almost all automakers moving to electrification, it is refreshing to hear that sound.
