Brutal Viper ACR-10 X Tackles the Standing Mile

We all get to ride shotgun with the most track-focused, brutal Viper ever.

The Viper ACR-X was among the most intense Vipers ever made. The ACR-X, a step up from the ACR-X, was built at the factory to race. Staggered 18″ (front), and 19″ (rear), slicks were used to replace street tires. Additional aero parts like the front bumper dive planes generate 10% more downforce than the standard ACR.

The 8.4 liter V10 produced 40 more horsepower for a total of 640. A further 45 lb/ft of torque increased the ACR-X’s power to 605. The new high-flow headers and substantially reduced exhaust restriction allowed for this power increase.

The ACR-X’s suspension is fully adjustable and the front brakes are larger, which is fed by large cooling ducts. This shows that it was designed to stop and turn as well. Despite the addition of a fire suppression device, the interior had a weight reduction of 120 pounds over the standard ACR. The Viper SRT10 ACRX-X was a serious racing machine.

Today’s ACR-X will not be shown on a road course. Instead, we will witness the viper’s brutal standing mile acceleration, unaffected by safety and emissions regulations.

The Viper SRT10 ACRX-X ran a blistering quarter-mile in 11.8 seconds and a trap speed at 126 miles an hour. How fast can it go with three quarters of an inch more space?

We can ride along with this track toy in this video by Johnny Bohmer Proving grounds. The ACR-X reached the finish line at 162.610 mph. This is a remarkable performance from an equally impressive Viper.
