Next-Gen BMW 5 Series Already Renewed Based on Spy Shots

Let’s hope the front part is accurate.

The next-generation BMW 5 Series was spotted in testing just a few days back. Now, it receives an unofficial rendering based upon those spy photos. Our Kolesa friends spent no time in rendering the front and rear of the German sedan.

You’d be relieved that the G60-generation 5 Series won’t have the huge lungs of the 3 Series or 4 Series, based on the prototype sighting. The kidney grille is now visible to be wider than it was before but they retain their original shape and don’t reach the bottom bumper.

Although the prototypes were not yet equipped with production lights, the images you see are only speculation. However, the 5er adopting 7er styling shouldn’t surprise anyone. You can see the spoiler integrated into the trunk lid at the rear. These renderings are also unofficial.

We expect the real thing will be quite different from these renderings. However, we do hope that Kolesa is correct about the grille. BMW hasn’t been too bothered by the backlash caused by the 3er/4er.

The prototypes show that the next 5 Series will most likely have PHEV and E-V versions. This is based on stickers on the bumpers. This is not surprising considering the 7 Series uses a similar strategy.

It won’t be this year that the next-generation G60 5 Series debuts, but it will happen in 2022 in sedan form. There will be more prototype sightings so make sure to keep an eye on our site for updates.
