2022 Honda Pilot Sport Gets a New Base Trim, LX and EX

The Pilot TrailSport will be almost $45,000 in the meantime.

The Honda Pilot will enter the 2022 model-year and the automaker has made some adjustments to the lineup. The SUV’s range has been reduced and there is a new entry-level model. Based on data from an order guide, a new report by CarsGuide sheds light on the 2022 pilot family.

According to an online publication, the Pilot Sport will be the new base model. This effectively means that the starting price for the 2022 Pilot will be substantially higher than the 2021 Pilot. The MSRP for 2022 Pilot Sport is $38,055 with front-wheel drive and $40,055 all-wheel drive (both inclusive of destination). Comparatively, the 2021 Pilot LX was $33,775 for FWD and the 2022 model is $4,280 more costly.

The higher price will include more standard equipment. The 2022 Pilot Sport will come nicely equipped with 20-inch Pewter Gray Alloy wheels, leather seating, and an 8-inch display for its infotainment system. The same V6 engine will power all trim levels. The EX trim level was also discontinued in the new model year.

CarsDirect reports that the 2022 Pilot TrailSport will be priced at nearly $45,000, or more precisely $44,785 with a $1,225 destination fee. The off-road-themed model is expected to be available later in the year. It will come with 18-inch wheels and 245/60 R18/105H AS tires. A leather interior will also be included. The 3.6-liter V6 will provide the power, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Standard equipment will include all-wheel drive.
