The exterior is stock and the cabin has beautiful new upholstery.
Garage italia Customs owner LapoElkann has a passion about cars, especially those that have a connection to his grandfather Gianni AGnelli, the former leader at Fiat. Garage Italia Customs has acquired the Fiat Panda 4×4 Agnelli used to drive on the snowy roads of St. Moritz, Switzerland. The factory never offered a better cabin than the small hatchback that the firm restored.
Agnelli used to fly a helicopter from Italy into the Swiss resort town of St. Moritz and keep this all-wheel-drive Panda with him. This little car was a basic transport vehicle for this ritzy area. The 1.1-liter engine produced only 53 horsepower (40 kilowatts).
Garage Italia Customs focuses on the Panda’s appearance and leaves the mechanical parts the same as when they arrived at the factory. The exterior is painted in a subtle, but not boring, shade of silver. The entire length of the body is covered in dark blue and black pinstripes. The original Panda and all-wheel-drive-system supplier Steyr Puch emblems are at the back, and Garage Italia Customs adds its own logo, too.
The interior is where the most important changes are made. Garage Italia Customs collaborates with Vitale Barberis Canonico, an Italian fabric mill, to obtain the dark blue patterned cloth, which is used throughout the interior. This includes the rear bench, seats, and door panels. Agnelli loves it. Garage Italia Customs also places its emblem on the leather sides. There is still some original black plastic there.
Although this creation is unique, it’s unclear what Garage Italia Customs plans to do with it. Maybe Elkann will follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and drive the hatchback around St. Moritz.
