2022 BMW X3 M Facelift Tested On Public Roads

The LCI model will not be subject to any unusual updates.

BMW was able to launch the first-ever X3 M in 2019. However, it seems that Bavaria is keen to update its high-performance compact sport activity vehicle. This is what BMW calls the Life Cycle Impulse.

The spy photos show that the X3M’s changes won’t be too radical. Most of the LCI model’s concealments are located on the front and back fascias. This hides the expected subtle changes. The LCI model will likely see revisions to the light clusters at its front and back. There will also be updates to the bumpers to give it a fresh look. Although spy photos of the exterior are not available, you can expect some improvements to the cabin, including a newer version BMW iDrive’s software and other tech enhancements. However, details are not yet confirmed.

The twin-turbo, inline-six is expected to continue with the oily bits from the current model. The non-Competition model will have 473 horsepower (352 Kilowatts) while the competition model has 442 pound-feet (602 Newton-meters). The X3 M Competition produces 503 horsepower (375 kW) more.

Expect the facelifted standard BMW X3 to debut this month. The X3M will likely be revealed by the end or early 2022.
