Volkswagen Passat CC In Depth

Volkswagen has added a third dimension to its model range: the Passat CC.

A rumor circulated last week that Volkswagen’s four-door coupe would be simply called the CC. Today, Volkswagen provided more details about the latest addition to their Passat range. However, they still refer to the car as “VW Passat CC”.

The latest addition to the highly successful Passat range is the VW Passat CC. Volkswagen has produced more than 15,000,000 units over its lifetime. The Passat CC crossover is a unique design. It can be classified as a sedan, coupe, or a convertible with its new body design and bucket seats for all passengers.

You can choose from a 2.0 TDI engine that produces 140 hp (or 170 hp), a TSI engine that produces 160 hp (or 200 hp), and a 3.6 liter V6 producing 300 hp. A twin-clutch transmission is used to couple the engines. The buyer can choose between a 6-speed or 7 speed version. The Euro-4 emission standards are met by the petrol engines, while the Euro-5 standard is already met by the TDI.

The four-door coupe can be ordered by most European countries already. North America and Japan will order the coupe later in the year, probably by the fourth quarter. The production of the Passat CC is at Volkswagen’s Emden plant, where the Passat Variant and Passat are also made.
