This could be the most innovative work van we have ever seen.
We are reminded of the glory days when big van conversions were possible in America every time we see one like this van. This particular model is a product MS-RT – a British tuning firm that transforms Ford vans to something a little more interesting. The foundation in this case is a new Transport. However, it’s not designed to be the ultimate people-mover. This is technically a commercial van.
Wait, what?
MS-RT states that the van can be configured to be a six-seater double cab. This means you can shuffle your family if you wish. It can be ordered as a 5-seater, 3-seater or two-seater van. The rest of the van’s space is left for you to transport whatever you need in a stylish vehicle. No matter what configuration you choose, the interior features include carbon fiber inlays on the steering wheel, MS-RT floor mats and a dash clock, and nappa leather and suede trim to the seats. We don’t yet have interior photos, but it sounds intriguing to say the least.
The outside is where the best of the magic happens. This includes a new front grille, fascia and integrated driving lamps. The body kit extends along the sides of the body, with sill extensions and roof spoilers at the rear. The body kit includes diffusers at the front and rear to complete the racing look.
While the MS-RT conversion is primarily a visual one, there are also some mechanical improvements. A set of Eibach springs reduces the suspension, which is claimed to improve handling and load capacity. The 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine is also given a special exhaust system. It rides on 18-inch OZ wheels.
MS-RT states that a complete list of specifications, options and pricing will be available next month. Although it won’t be made available in the United States, it will look great inside and out, so we expect that American contractors will be a little jealous of their European counterparts.
