You can speed in a tractor
It’s happened to all of us, as we were stuck behind slow-moving tractors on our morning commute to work. You’re likely to have spent a lot of time behind agricultural machinery if you live in the Midwest or Great Plains. Sometimes the line of cars behind a tractor can be dozens long. This makes it difficult to know if your car is fast enough for 23 cars to pass at once. It’s not, shockingly. The Top Gear team came up with a solution to the problem of meandering tractors. It’s rightly named the ” Trak-tor.”
This is why the name is so appropriate. This tractor is not your grandpa’s tractor. The tractor’s exterior is unassuming, except for the Cherry Bomb twin-stack exhaust sticking out the hood, and it houses a Chevy Blazer chassis as well as a Chevy 5.7L V8 that produces 500 horsepower. This Trak-tor doesn’t suffer from any parasitic power loss. Under the enormous Formula 1 wing at the rear is a 1.6-liter Peugeot diesel motor that powers all your agricultural accessories.
Top Gear‘s TrakTOR features headlights from An Ariel Nomad, Lamborghini orange paint, a transfer box from a Land Rover and huge Super Swamper rear tires imported to the U.S. because of too much oil used in the tires’ manufacture.
It is so powerful that it can pop wheelsies. The video shows Top Gear magazine deputy editor Jack Rix getting the Trak-tor running, with the exhaust popping and fire-spitting. You can also bring your family, with enough seating for three. This should make it easy to convince your partner that this is a worthwhile and logical investment.
This is what tractor farmers want. This tractor would not be able to stow away on the side of the road. It would speed past traffic like it was going in reverse. You can see the TrakTOR in action in episode five of season 25. Check out the host’s antics.
