A formal debut is likely to be around the corner.
It has been over a year since the HyundaiKona N was first spotted . We can now see the vehicle in all its glory thanks to a new set of spy photos, even though it was only weeks or days away from its official debut. The attached gallery shows you every inch of the crossover performance.
Our spy team was in the right spot at the right moment to capture the Kona N during an official photo shoot in Germany. The fast crossover was not camouflaged and was accompanied with a special Audi Q7 film vehicle and several members of the crew. The spy photographer’s presence caused some dismay among the assistants, so they decided to cover the vehicle with a black wrap.
Hyundai has released teasers for the Kona N earlier in the month. These previews pretty much show what we can expect in terms design. These new photos clearly show the sculpted front bumper, black side skirts and red accents as well as the busy rear end featuring a large diffuser, two round exhaust pipes, and a large diffuser. The large, double-wing roof spoiler featuring an integrated triangular stoplight is our favorite design element.
The Kona N will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. It is expected to produce 278 horsepower (207 Kilowatts) as well as 289 pound-feet (392 Newton meters) of torque. Unofficial information suggests that power will be directed to the front wheels (or possibly all four) via an eight-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
It will debut – hopefully within the next few weeks.
