While we eagerly await the arrival of the FocusST, a new report indicates that there is more in the works.
Talking to Drive Gunnar Herrmann, Ford’s Global C Segment Platform director, confirmed that the company is working on a new Focus RS. Although he was not forthcoming with details, he stated that the model would feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine with 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) to 380 PS (379 kW/ 375 HP). Herrmann also stated that the car will continue to be front-wheel driven, but that it would have the Revoknuckle suspension system, which reduces torque steer.
The Focus RS is likely to be released as a 2013 model. Keep checking back for more information.
