It will be available at European dealerships in the fall.
The Audi Q3 design is outdated. It was designed in 2011. Audi plans to change that, in order to keep up with German rival Mercedes. Audi promised to release a new, refreshed or next-gen vehicle every three weeks. The second-generation Q3 is now available for 2019. The new Q3 has a refreshed look and more technology. It also offers a range of powertrains.
This design draws inspiration from Audi’s new and refreshed products. The design is athletic and has svelte shoulders that reach over the wheel wells. It looks like Audi has grafted the Q8’s design onto a smaller body. The vertical grille has horizontal slates, while the headlights are reminiscent of the larger units in the new A3 Sportback. Customers have the option of choosing between 17-inch, 18-inch, or 20 inch wheels.
The new Q3 increases in length by 3.6 inches (9.65 cm) and the wheelbase by three inches (7.6cm). This increases passenger and cargo space. The Q3 has 23.8 cubic feet more cargo space than the 16.7-cubic-foot model. The space available when the seats are folded down is 53.9 cubic feet. This is an improvement of four cubic feet over the 2018 model.
Three powertrains will be offered by Audi for the Q3. We don’t know much about the details, but we believe that the U.S. version of the Q3 will be equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It produces 190 horsepower (kilowatts), and 236 and 258 pound feet (Newton-meters), respectively. It will be paired with Audi’s seven speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission, and Quattro all wheel drive. The new Q3 will also have a six-mode dynamic handling system. This includes Auto, Comfort and Dynamic, Off Road, Efficiency, Efficiency, Individual mode, and more. A damping control system is also available.
You can see a lot of Q8 influence inside the design. Although the Q3 does not have dual touchscreens in the center console, it retains some of the same shapes. The 8.8-inch infotainment display is located above the HVAC controls. Photos show an elegant, clean interior. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard. There are also four USB ports in the front and back, and a 12-volt outlet at the rear. The larger 10.-inch screen and the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster are also available.
Safety technology is a hallmark of the Audi Q3. All safety technology is available in the Audi Q3.
The 2019 Audi Q3 will be available in European showrooms starting November, with U.S. sales expected to begin in 2019.
