Z28 will most likely receive Chevy’s 6.2-liter LSA V8 with 550 horsepower (410 kW) tuning. The debut of the new Camaro Z28 will be at Detroit’s auto show in January.
American muscle car enthusiasts eagerly await the Chevy Camaro Z28. A thoughtful artist has created a picture of the possible design of the car ahead of its official release.
Jon Sibal created this image. It shows a Camaro Z28 that is ready to meet the tradition and take on its arch-competitor, the Ford Shelby GT500.
Speculation suggests that the Camaro may come with a supercharged 6.2 liter LSA V8 variant, possibly tuned to higher settings than the Cadillac CTS-V. Or Corvette might decide to share its 638 hp (476 kW), LS9 with its sibling.
The LSA engine in CTS-V’s CTS-V has 556 horsepower (415 kW), which is about six ponies more than the GT500. Chevy could decide to deal a more severe blow to the competition, but there has been no indication from the American brand as to where the Z28 is headed – other than at the Detroit auto show next year where it will most likely debut.
