According to a new report, Jeep may be considering a Wrangler SRT8. The 6.4-liter HEMI HEMI V8 would power it with 470 horsepower (350 kW/ 477 PS) as well as 470 lbft (637 Nm).
Jeep may be considering a Wrangler SRT8 according to a new report.
MSN Autos reports that American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), built a HEMI-powered Wrangler to be used by Mike Manley, CEO of Jeep. Although this SUV sounds great for executive use, the website states that it was made to evaluate the company’s options and is being considered for production.
Although nothing is confirmed, the Wrangler was apparently equipped with the 6.4-liter HEMI H8 engine that produces 470 horsepower (350 kW/ 477 PS) as well as 470lb-ft (637Nm) of torque. As you probably know, this engine will also be used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which will be revealed at the New York Auto Show.
Although we aren’t optimistic, Jeep is not afraid to put HEMIs in Wranglers. The company created the Wrangler Ultimate concept at the SEMA Motor Show in 2007 by putting a 6.4-liter HEMI engine into a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.
