It takes just 4.9 seconds to sprint from 0 to 62 mph. It is faster than a VW Golf GTI.
Although diesel technology is one of the most controversial topics you can discuss these days, customers love it, especially in Europe. BMW currently works on a hybrid, and an electric version the latest generation X3. Alpina gave the diesel-powered SUV a significant power boost. This is something BMW will not do.
Bavaria-based tuning firm has reworked a “state-of the-art BMW 3.0-liter straightsix engine with two turbochargers” and “common-rail high pressure direct injection” of the regular X3 Diesel. This result gives you 333 horsepower (245kilowatts) as well as a peak torque of 516 pound feet (700 Newton-meters) that is mountain-moving.
These numbers may not sound impressive to you. Alpina claims that the new XD3 accelerates from 0-60 miles per hour (0-100 km/h) in just 4.9 seconds. The top speed is 158 mph (254 kph). This is a diesel-powered SUV that’s one of the fastest on the market.
The vehicle consumes nine liters on an average 100 km, which is roughly 26 miles per gallon. This is measured using the new WLTP cycle. The CO2 emissions per kilometer are 238 grams
The motor’s 3.0-liter displacement is mated with an eight-speed manual gearbox and BMW’s xDrive intelligent AWD, which have been retuned in order to provide neutral driving dynamics as well as high levels of traction.
New suspension technology has been added to the XD3 with electronically adjustable dampers, and an active rear limited slip differential. The SUV comes standard with 20-inch wheels, which have lockable wheel covers and hidden air valves. However, new lightweight 22-inch wheels are available.
Alpina states that the model will be available for purchase in the second quarter next year. Details about the standard equipment and the optional equipment will also be made public. Deliveries are expected to begin in the early part of next year.
