Fiesta keeps it going.
The Ford Fiesta has been removed from the Blue Oval’s American lineup . However, it is still available in Europe. These spy photos show the hatchback’s forthcoming refresh.
Engineers keep the car hidden with lots of camouflage. This includes covering the rear windows. The front is where the most notable changes are made. There is an additional layer of plastic on top. It is evident that the grille has been modified and the headlights have been revised.
The changes to the body’s rest are not as significant. The changes to the lower bumper are not as significant as our spy reports. The taillight design is the same but the inner edges have been covered.
The cabin of the Fiesta has been updated, although it is not visible from this photo. There could be new upholstery and infotainment systems.
Powertrain changes don’t seem very likely. Ford introduced a mild hybrid version of its EcoBoost engine in 2020. The engine uses a 48-volt system with an integrated belt-driven starter generator to help the ICE set off.
Ford also introduced a seven-speed automatic gearbox to the Fiesta, which was equipped with the EcoBoost version of the EcoBoost 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine. It produces 123 horsepower (92-kW) and is a stout 1.2-liter. This setup is 15% more efficient than the previous one, according to Ford.
Last year’s mechanical upgrades to the Fiesta included adaptive cruise control and an upgraded version of the Sync 3 infotainment systems.
There is no indication that Ford will bring the Fiesta back into the US. However, there are some possibilities that the Puma’s mechanical sibling might be able to enter the market. Ford CEO Jim Farley tweeted “Wish this came in NA [North America]!” referring to a video featuring the sporty Puma ST. He’s the one who can make it happen. The 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine in the sporty version of this crossover produces 197 horsepower (146 kW) as well as 214 pound feet (290 Newton-meters) and 236 lb/ft (320Nm) with overboost.
