It now comes with a diesel engine in Europe and is up against the BMW M550d xDrive.
It was only natural. Audiography has shown us the S6 Avant, and the S7 Sportback. Now Auditography will share some amazing footage and shots with S6 Sedan, which was captured in Rudesheim am Rhein (Germany). The car is dressed in Navarra Blue and features the familiar mild hybrid V6 diesel engine. This engine offers a great amount of torque and excellent fuel efficiency.
This is an interesting proposition from Audi. It comes after the Volkswagen Group’s Dieselgate scandal and joins a number of other S models that have the controversial TDI engines. The styling changes over the regular model are subtle and you need to know where they are. But that’s the point of the S models: simple, understated.
Audi will sell the S6 Sedan in America, Asia and the Middle East with a gasoline engine (twin turbo V6 2.9TFSI). Although we have heard rumors about the return to power of the RS6 Sedan we will believe it once we see it. The German magazine Autobild published a report stating that Audi would bring back the performance sedan for the United States and China, where it would compete with the BMW M5 or the Mercedes-AMG E63.
Although the jury isn’t yet out on whether Audi plans an RS6 Sedan or not, the S6 four-door sedan will continue to be the best. The RS6 Avant superwagon is just around the corner, and will still have the twin-turbo 4.0L V8 gasoline engine. It may even make the United States, as Oliver Hoffmann, Audi Sport R&D boss, hinted at a few months back. Let’s hope it happens.
