These are the most recent photos of the model that will be DaimlerChrysler’s first compact 4×4 SUV. The model’s internal code is 204 SUT. In public, it is called MLK.
The MLK uses technical components from the new Mercedes C-Class. It will debut in 2007 and has four-wheel drive. The MLK will be powered by four, six, or eight-cylinder engines. The newcomer will be able to compete against other competitors like the BMW X3 or the Audi Q5.
Bremen will produce 40.000 units annually of the MLK.
Talks are Euro 36.000 for the standard model.
These photos show a testmule that is currently undergoing cold weather testing in Scandinavia. One photo shows that the engineers included a BMW X3 in their testing for comparison.
