Reader Spots Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Andrew, thank you for these photos and sharing them with me. The Mercedes-Benz GLE–Class Coupe was parked in Birmingham, Alabama when Motor1.com reader Andrew spotted the vehicle and took these photos. Andrew states that the spot is approximately 40 miles away from Mercedes’ Tuscaloosa facility. We believe it is the GLE 53 Coupe variant. Previous GLE Coupe test mules Camouflage was applied to the entire body . The model is largely unobtrusive and has a beautiful look. It has exactly the same styling as we’d expect. It looks almost identical to the GLE-Class standard except for the roofline. This might appeal to people who want a more sleek silhouette within the same footprint. If this is the GLE 53 Coupe then all tech specs are known due to the standard GLE 53 debuting in March 2019. The engine is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine with an integral starter-generator. It can also spin the turbo electrically to provide an instant boost. The same output is expected at 435 horsepower (320 megawatts). The output is delivered through a nine speed automatic. The boxier body can reach speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in just 5.3 seconds. See More of the GLE Coupe A variable air suspension could adjust the ride height up to 2.165 inches (55mm). There are four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Trail. The Coupe variant will be revealed before the end, given the GLE 53’s earlier debut and the minimal camouflage seen on the test mule.
