Peugeot 3008 Concept Is An Adventurous SUV It is a unique project. You wouldn’t expect to find Peugeot and off-road adventurer in the same story. But here they are. Although it may not be ready to go on the Rubicon, the Peugeot3008 concept was recently created by the French automaker. This concept was created to be featured in Top Gear magazine. It is not intended for future product development. Get the Latest Peugeot News This concept is based upon the 3008’s GT Line model, which has a 1.6-liter four cylinder engine. Peugeot added some subtle off-road features. The Cooper AT3 offroad tires wrap around 17-inch steel wheels. Underbody protection, such as the front skid plate, gives the 3008 some offroad credence. Peugeot has also included an LED light bar on the front of its aluminum roof rack. This can be used to drive down unmarked roads or trails. The ARB Simpson roof tent is located on the top of the SUV, while the rear holds a bicycle rack that allows for mobility on the go when you get to your destination. It’s not a major conversion, but it is a demonstration of how a few small upgrades can improve an SUV’s capabilities. The concept was able to successfully cross the northern section on the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Vietnam. David Peel, Peugeot UK’s Managing Director, was impressed by the concept’s ability to conquer some of the more difficult terrain. He said that the unique model “exemplifies both the practicality of our best-selling SUV” and its off-road capability. The Peugeot 3008 is a one-off in a slew of off-road concepts by an automaker.
