Aston Martin DBX Renewned Without Camouflage

The upcoming DBX from Aston Martin has been kept hidden under camouflage – up to now.

The camouflage covering the upcoming Aston Martin DBX has been distracting and brightly colored every time we have seen it. The camouflage hides the styling and makes the prototype car look more like a work of Basquiat than a high-performance luxury SUV.

Automedia, our friends, were able to see past the smokescreen to render their final version of the DBX. Their rendering captures many of the DBX’s best features, including its overwhelmingly curvaceous form.

We are particularly impressed by the bulbous fender flares. They exude a thoughtful look while not looking too tough. This less aggressive look will help distinguish the new Aston Martin SUV from other luxury performance SUVs that make heavy use of traditional SUV styling features.

It appears that the Aston Martin DBX has abandoned almost all of the traditional SUV styling trends in favor of something completely new. We can only see the lower front bumper trim that resembles a skid plate.

The DBX’s sporty look is reflected in its small headlights, traditional Aston Martin grille and distinctive Aston Martin grille. It’s a slim, athletic-looking shape that almost looks feminine. Although it is common wisdom that soft, flowing styling shouldn’t be used on an SUV, it works well here.

We can see that the DBX is an off-road capable vehicle, as Aston Martin shared from intensive testing sessions. It’s difficult to see the DBX’s aggressive appearance when you’re cruising sideways on rally courses at high speed.

This rendering is only a representation and the final Aston Martin DBX could look very different. We think Automedia is on the right track after seeing the rendering and looking at the prototype.
