This is a steep price to pay for an enormous (and powerful) crate engine.
Chevrolet has just released a preview of the most powerful crate engine GM has ever made. The Chevy V8 is the “biggest and most powerful crate engine” GM has ever made. It’s rated at more than a thousand horsepower without the need to induct or use pump gas.
The ZZ632 Big Block Engine V8 will not be cheap, however. Although the official price of the ZZ632 Big Block V8 has not been revealed, Gandrud Chevrolet made available pricing information through its website during pre-orders.
The ZZ632/1000 Chevrolet Performance Big Block (part no. 19432060) has a suggested retail value of $37.758.72 and a reduced price of $29.499. Muscle Cars & trucks stated that the ZZ632 big block V8 is more expensive than the 755 LT5 V8 crate engine. It retails for around $18,000.
Comparatively, Chevy’s new Crate Engine is more expensive than Hellephant’s $29,995 price tag . The engine installation kit required an additional $2,265.
The ZZ632’s price is not surprising to us. A high price tag is almost necessary considering the amount of potential the ZZ632 can bring to the table. Inflation is another factor.
The ZZ632 Big Block v8 crate engine is 632 cubic inches in displacement. This converts to approximately 10.35 liters. When running on 93-octane gasoline, it produces a peak output power of 1,004 horsepower (738 Kilowatts) as well as 876 pound-feet (1.188 Newton-meters).
“The ZZ632 is the king of performance and sits at the top our exceptional crate engine range. It produces incredible power and can run on pump gas,” Russ O’Blenes said, director of Chevy’s Performance and Racing Propulsion Team.
Deliveries to customers of the Chevy ZZ632 big block V8 will begin in the early part of next year.
