It’s amazing that two completely different vehicles could be combined. Meet the “Mustanger.”
Ford is finishing up the next generation Ranger Mustang. The former will debut on November 24, while the latter will likely come out sometime next year. The T6 and S550, as they are known by Blue Oval enthusiasts, were inexplicably (but dare to say brilliantly) combined with a pony car’s front fascia to create a wild truck.
The Thailand-based aftermarket shop “What Ford” is responsible for a surprising (though rather incestual merger of two models that could not be more different. This custom build is based upon the Ranger’s outgoing model with bulging flared fender flares, matte black taillights and Force Off-Road wheels wrapped in off-road tires. It also includes what appears to be an upgrade to the air suspension.
The unique face transplant featuring the pony logo is the party piece. The grille is the same as that of the sports coupe and has familiar side air intakes. The shape of the headlights is unchanged, but What Ford modified the innards to add three LED daytime running lamps to match the one found in the ‘Stang. To emphasize the point, the tuner added another strip of lights to the bumper.
The pony badges and dual white stripes akin to a Shelby-badged version of the most loved sports car are the final touches to the Mustang connection. Although the “Mustanger”, as we have baptized the vehicle, looks great. However, this video is a bit poor considering that some of the running footage shows it with its hood off.
