Evidently, the Suzuki Jimny wins.
The Suzuki Jimny, one of the most popular cars in the world, will not be sold in America – at least not yet. Actually, Suzuki Japan is the only place the Jimny is manufactured. is having trouble keeping up with global demand.
The Jimny’s charm lies in its boxy shape, which is reminiscent of the Mercedes-AMG G63 This isn’t a problem because the Japanese mini-off-roader is 10x cheaper than the German luxury SUV.
Imagine the possibilities when you save money by choosing the Jimny over the G-Wagon.
You can see the differences between the G-Wagon & the Jimny under their hoods. The AMG G63’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 twin-turbo engine produces 577 horsepower, and 627 pound-feet torque. The AMG G63’s power is so great that it beat a Land Rover Ranger Rover SVR, and an Audi SQ7 in drag racing.
The Jimny has a modest 1.5L naturally-aspirated engine that produces 100 horsepower and 102 lbft torque. It’s not much, but the Japanese mini SUV weighs in at around 2,500 pounds. This is roughly half the weight of the AMG G63. It is capable of handling rugged terrain with ease, according to Motor1.com.
But, in a tug-of-war, can the Suzuki Jimny beat the AMG G63? It is not possible. What about Jimny and two? Three? To find out, watch the video at the top of this page.
