Last week, we shared a list with you of the 20 most affordable cars currently on sale in the U.S. While both the Nissan Versa (and the Mitsubishi Mirage) are excellent for their value-for money proposition, it is often more fun to see the other end of the spectrum. These 20 most costly cars are available right now. They produce between 1,000 horsepower (745 kilowatts), and their prices range from $900,000.000 to $4.5 Million, before taxes and other options.
The Panoz GTR-1 is a case in point. Panoz’s original creation was a Le Mans-style race car. However, the company now offers street-legal versions. It is equipped with a 600-hp (447 kW) V8 that produces 500 pound-feet (677 Newton meters) of torque. You can buy one of the most stunning and powerful hypercars available for just a little over $1 million. Pagani Huayra has a V12 engine producing 720 horsepower (536 kW) and a top speed at 224 mph (360 km per hour).
Apollo was born from the ashes Gumpert’s first model. The new Arrow is the symbol of the marque’s resurrection and produces 1,000 horsepower (745kW) thanks to a 4.0-liter biturbo Audi v8 in memory of its lost sibling.
It is made in China and has a 1,341 horsepower (1,000 kW) engine. However, it is the fastest autonomous car ever to lap Circuit of the Americas. It completed the lap in 2 minutes, 11:30 seconds. All of it was captured on camera.
Mazzanti, an Italian startup, has been making its Evantra hypercar since 2005. The Millecavalli model, which produces 1,000 horsepower (745 kW), is the most powerful and lightest model, weighing in at 2,866 pounds (1.300 kilograms). The production is limited to 25 units worldwide. Although the “Arash” name might not be as heavy as Pagani, Koenigsegg or other supercars on this list, don’t overlook the British supercar. The AF10 hybrid starts at $1.5 million and features a 6.2-liter V8 paired with four electric motors. This brings the total output to 2,080 hp (1.551 kW). You can purchase a non-hybrid version of the AF10 for less than $435,000.
James Glickenhaus, founder and CEO, debuted the road-going 003S earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show. He said each vehicle would have 800 horsepower (596 kW) and cost $1.8 million. Glickenhaus claims that only three examples of his 003S will be made at the moment.
Zenvo launched a special TS1 GT in honor of the 10th anniversary of the automaker at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. The special edition is an extravagance that builds on the base TS1 platform. It uses a twin-supercharged V8 engine to produce 1,163 hp (or 867 kW) and can reach speeds well above 200 mph (321 kmh).
W Motors appeared to have sprung from nowhere with the 2012 introduction of the Lykan HyperSport, which is a very expensive car. (We’ll get to it later). Fenyr SuperSport, which is cheaper but not less dramatic, debuted in 2016 with an extravagant design and a biturbo V8 of 4.0-liters, developed in collaboration with Ruf. It produces 900 horsepower (671 kW), and 885 lbft (1,200Nm) of torque.
The Regera is Koenigsegg’s next chapter of speed. The total output of the Regera is 1,500 horsepower (1,118kW) and 1,475lb-ft (2,200 Nm) respectively. It looks amazing. Only 40 Lamborghini Centenarios will be made, each one costing $1.9 million. This supercar, which honors Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th Birthday, comes pre-loaded under the hood with a V12 engine producing 759 horsepower (565 kW).
Ferrari has not provided an exact price for the new LaFerrariAperta. This is due to “exclusivity.” We know it is expensive, regardless of the circumstances. It is safe to say that it will cost between $2 and $2.5 million. Only 209 units will ever be made, each one with 950 horsepower (708 kW) under its hood. You better hurry. According to reports, 250 orders have already been placed for the 1,500-hp (1.118-kW), hypercar. This accounts for half of the entire production run. This is quite impressive considering the car’s price of $2.6 million.
The HuayraBC is even more exclusive and expensive than the Huayra Streetster. The Huayra BC was introduced in 2016. It has a 789-hp (588 kW) biturbo-V12 under the hood. It weighs just 2,685 lbs (1.218 kgs). Only 20 Huayra BCs will ever be made. Although the Vulcano might not be as well-known as Bugatti or Pagani, the Icona Vulcano Titanium remains a truly unique creation. The 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine from the Corvette ZR1 produces 670 horsepower (500 kW) and allows it to accelerate to 60 mph (61.6 kmh). Although Aston Martin has not yet put a price tag on the new Valkyrie supercar, rumors suggest that it will be close to $3 million when it goes on sale. It features a body designed by Adrian Newey, a Cosworth-sourced V12 and a top speed well above 200 mph (321 kmh).
W Motors, a Dubai-based company, has two of the most expensive cars in this list. Lykan HyperSport was introduced in 2012 and costs $3.4 million. It comes with a 3.7-liter biturbo flat-6, which Ruf, Porsche specialists, developed. It looks stunning. You could purchase one of nine Lamborghini Veneno roadsters for $4.5 million, or roughly the cost of a small island. This hypercar, which is based in Aventador, has a 750-hp (559 kW), 6.5-liter V12, and a top speed at 221 mph (355 kmh). It’s not only the most expensive car on the list, but it’s also the most exclusive.
