Renault’s 2012 Megane has been revealed. It has a new styling and three new engines.
Renault unveiled the 2012 Megane facelift.
The model is designed to be more contemporary and features a new front fascia as well as LED daytime running lights, restyled wheels, and LED daytime running lamps.
The interior features an updated audio system, and “Renault Sport” sill plates for GT / GT-Line models. A leather/Alcantara seat package is now available, as well as a Visio system that includes automatic high beam headlights and lane departure warning functions.
Three new engines are under the hood. The Energy dCi 110 produces 110 PS (81 kW / 108 hp), and 260 Nm (292 lb-ft). The car averages 3.8 L/100km (77.3 mpg UK), with CO2 emissions less than 95g/km.
The 1.6-liter Energy Ci 130 is rated at 130 PS (96kW/128 hp) with 320 Nm (236lb-ft) torque. The engine produces 4.0 L/100 km (70.6 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of only 104 grams/km.
The 1.2-liter Energy TCe 115 produces 115 PS/85 kW/113 hp and 190 Nm/140 lbft of torque. The combined fuel consumption is 5.3 L/100km (53.2% mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of only 119 grams/km.
The Megane RS engine has been tuned to produce an additional 15 PS (11 kW /15 hp) as well as 20 Nm (15 lbft) in sport mode. This model features LED-infused headlights and upgraded interior, as well as new alloy wheels of 18 inches.
In March 2012, the Megane 2012 will be launched in Europe.
