2021 Audi A7L Officially Revealed.

It is a Sportback version of the sedan.

This week, the first Audi for China is being unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2021. The A7L is a complement to the A6L sedan by Audi-FAW and the regular A7. It eschews the Sportback body design of its global sibling and instead opts for a more traditional sedan with proper trunk lid. The design of the A7L is essentially a stretched sedan derivative from the Sportback. The interior is essentially the same as the liftback model. However, there are obvious changes to the design, such as the increased legroom for passengers in the back.

This car is the First Edition, which has a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine with mild-hybrid technology. It produces 335 horsepower (250 Kilowatts) as well as 369 pound-feet (369 Newton-meters) of torque. This is channeled through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the Quattro all wheel-drive system.

Four-wheel steering is standard and comes with air suspension. This makes it easier to maneuver the sedan in tight spaces and increases stability when cornering at high speeds. The First Edition has a limit of 1,000 copies and comes with all the bells, whistles, and features for early adopters who want an extended A7 with a traditional trunk.

The new A7L will be manufactured and sold in China, much like the A6L. Audi claims that customer deliveries will begin in the first quarter 2022. The Four Rings expect that the country’s total annual sales will surpass 700,000.

The long-wheelbase Audi models in China include the A3 and , along with two crossovers, the Q2L or Q5L. The China-only Q2L Etron has the option of electric propulsion.
