2022 Lexus NX350h Understeer in The Moose Trial

This video shows the NX 350h doing well in the slalom.

We are eager to see how the Lexus NX 350h 2022 performs in the grueling moose test. This new model, which is the brand’s second-generation compact crossover, fits between the UX/RX models in the lineup. KM77 is the Spanish YouTube channel which conducts these tests. It has set a goal for vehicles that complete the moose-test with an entry speed at 77 km/h (48 mi/h). Although the NX350h can’t reach cones at this speed, it is close. Driver attempts to run at 78 kph (48.5 MPH) but hits only two cones in the second group. He doesn’t attempt to turn into the final cone group. The NX 350h can complete the challenge by dropping the speed to 75 km/h (46.6 mph). KM77 has a problem with the stability control system. It slows down the Lexus to 25 kph (15.5 MPH) in the last section of cones. The video shows a Honda HRV passing the moose test. The vehicle enters the evaluation at an average speed of 74 kph (46.6 mph), and then the stability control slows it down to 38 kph (23.6 km/h) in the final section.

KM77 reported that the NX 350h was understeered when it was tested at higher speeds. This was not atypical behavior for the models that the site tested. With a time of 23.3 seconds, the Mini Cooper SE Countryman is first. With a time of 23.6 seconds, the Cupra Born is second.

The NX can be ordered with one of four powertrains in the US. The NX 350 features a turbocharged four cylinder of 2.4 liters that produces 275 horsepower (205 kW) as well as 317 lb/ft (430 Nm). The NX 350h features a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor at each axle. This gives it a total power output of 239 horsepower (178 kW). The plug-in hybrid NX 350h+ features a 2.5-liter four cylinder and an electric motor on each axle, producing a total power output of 302 horsepower (225 kW).
