The E30 is the second generation BMW of the most loved model, the 3 Series. The E30 was available in a two and four-door sedan, as well as a convertible and station wagon.

The first production cars were made in December 1981. The actual mass production began in the following year. In 1994, the last examples of the assemly lines were rolled. There were 2,339,520 units manufactured.

The 3 Series was the entry level model for Bavaria in 1982. The E30 is an example of entry-level, which does not necessarily mean that it is expensive or mid-range. It was so balanced in every way that it should make most modern cars ashamed. Literally.

The E30 had a variety of motors. It was available with four- and six-cylinder gasolines and two six-cylinder diesels. Power for the entire family ranged from 84 horsepower (63 kW), to 235 horsepower (175 kW).
