BMW has begun to increase the number of special editions for the BMW 3-Series sedan (E90), which will be ending in October 2011. We’ve already seen a number of special HTML3 editons. Most recently, we saw the 3-Series Model M Sport and Edition Exclusive models. But the most recent is the 335i Performance edition.
The 335i Performance Edition was announced during the BMWNA Sales Roundtable Broadcast. It will be equipped with a Stage 1 power package (same model as 335is), which increases the output by 20 PS (15kW / 20bhp) to 326 PS (240kW / 322bhp). This results in a 0-60mph time of 5.3 seconds. This is 0.2 seconds quicker than the standard 335i. Black kidney grilles are included and Performance Edition badge is added.
The Performance Edition is available in standard order. The Performance Edition package can be retrofitted onto any 335i sedan in a way that will please dealers. Only one requirement is that the car must have Sport/M Sport package.
The Performance Edition’s pricing is great at $550. The August production 335i sedans are available.
