The four-door coupe will make its debut in Geneva next week. It is modestly outfitted for a sporty-elegant style. The kit was tested in wind tunnels and features a front spoiler that attaches to the OE bumper, restyled inserts for the daytime running LEDs, sport fenders with side gills and rear spoiler, as well as a lower bumper apron custom-fitted to accept the four tailpipes from the BRABUS sports exhaust system. A centrally mounted reflector completes the rear look.
Suspension tuning can be done at various levels. Sport springs can lower the ride height by 30 millimeters, or you can upgrade to a full suspension system with adjustable dampers. CLS models with semi-active AIRMATIC air suspension systems can be lowered up to 35 millimeters (1.4 inches). BRABUS suspension module. BRABUS Monoblock Wheels are available in six sizes, ranging from 8.5Jx17 up to 10.5Jx20. They can be ordered as either one-piece or three-piece wheels in six different designs.
In the early stages of performance tuning, it is still somewhat sedate. The CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model with BRABUS ECO PowerXtraD4 performance kit provides an additional 31 PS (31 bhp / 22.8 kW) and peak torque at 560 Nm (413 lbft). BRABUS provides the ECO PowerXtraD6S plug-and play auxiliary control unit for the CLS350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model. It can be installed in under 45 minutes. Only peak torque in ‘Eco” mode is increased from 620 to 690 Nm (457 – 509 lbft) between 1,600 – 2,400 rpm. Maximum power output is unchanged. Peak torque and power output increase in ‘Sport’ mode. Maximum power output increases from 265 PS (261 BHP /195 kW), to 313 PS (309 BHP /230 kW), at a low 3,600 RPM. This setting allows the turbodiesel model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Electronically, the top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 MPH).
Keep watching as BRABUS will reveal an extreme tuning project at Geneva Motor Show.
