M-Sport Europe has developed rally kit for Ford Fiesta. This will allow U.S. teams to compete at the 2011 U.S. Fiesta Sport Trophy Championship series – which is part of RallyCar’s Rally America National Championship2WD class.
Ford will be bringing its R2 rally gear for Fiesta to America. M-Sport Europe, Ford’s WRC partner in Europe, developed the Fiesta R2 kit. It features a range new engine parts including a sport filter, pistons and injectors that will increase performance to the 1.6-liter powerplant to 168 horsepower (125 kW/ 170 PS) as well as 134 lb-ft (181 Nm) which is 40 percent more than the standard configuration.
The kit also includes a 5-speed Sadev sequential transmission gearbox, adjustable dampers to the suspension, and a T45 roll-cage. Team O’Neil Motorsports will sell the R2 package. Only cars equipped with the R2 by Team O’Neil can enter the U.S. Fiesta Sport Trophy Championship series – part of RallyCar’s Rally America National Championship 2-WD class.
