Before next-generation models arrive in the next decade, the aging midsize trucks will be given a facelift.
According to the rumours, GM will be releasing new versions of its vehicles. GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado Trucks of midsize size for the model years 2023 and 2024. This is good news, as the General’s twins have survived in their second-generation form since 2012. Although there hasn’t been much competition, GM doesn’t have to be worried about it. Ford Ranger and Jeep Gladiator The segment isn’t as streamlined as it used to be in the mix. As such we heard rumors last month GM could be getting a facelift before the new-generation arrives. Now our spy team has confirmed those rumors with the first sighting of Colorado and Canyon together.
We were able to compare the two prototypes at Dunkin Donuts. in this instance, we’re referring to a facelift. The exterior changes are limited to the clip. The GMC will get an even larger version of its corporate grille. It extends well south into a revised fascia that may mirror the full-size Sierra. A new grille will be added to the Colorado. It is not identical to the full-size version, but it looks the same. It is difficult to see details on the Chevy’s lower fascia, but it looks very similar to today.
At this point, it is not clear if GM will offer interior upgrades to go with the new faces. It would make sense to add technology or standard equipment. We don’t anticipate any major changes to the powertrain with a brand new platform in just a few more years.
Although this is our first glimpse, we believe GM has quickly moved these updates to production. For the model year 2021, expect a debut in early-to-mid 2020.
