Thanks to a high-performance HM600 powerkit that includes new engine electronics and a stronger belt pulley set and a modified transmission with an oil cooler, the Hamann Typhoon competes with the 700 hp Brabus GV12 S Biturbo and the Brabus G V12S Biturbo . All these improvements result in a 0-100 km/h speed of 5.1 seconds, and a top speed at 261 km/h (162 km/h).

Hamann’s engineers also modified the iconic Gelandewagen’s styling, adding carbon fiber mirrors and door handles to it. Fender vents were also added, as well as a huge front grille. Exterior design improvements include an LED-daytime running light front spoiler, an integrated diffuser in the rear bumper, a six-pipe exhaust system, 24-inch wheels and a roof-mounted spoiler.

The Typhoon cabin continues the unique sporting theme with a Hamann steering and pedal wheel, aluminum pedals, 24-piece carbon fibre trim set, illuminated stainless-steel door sill plates and velour upholstery.
