Takanobu Ito, Honda president, says that the automaker is working on a successor to the NSX hybrid high-performance model.
Honda confirmed that it is currently working on a successor for the NXS sports model.
Takanobu Ito (President of Honda Motor Co.) told reporters last week at the Shanghai motorshow that they were developing a new version, but it would be different than the NSX.
Due to the 2008 financial crisis, which hit the global automotive industry especially hard, development of the next NSX had to be stopped.
Ito stated that the car would not have a V10 engine like the model before it, but would be equipped with a hybrid drivetrain. It would be a more expensive version of the CR-Z hybrid sports coupe/hatch.
Ito says, “We are working very hard to it.”
Last year, reported a future NSX model would include a hybrid-drive system that included a 3.5-liter V6 with 400 bhp (298 kW / 406 PS).
