Jay Leno drives the Case IH Quadtrac Tractor

Supercar for crop work.

The latest episode Jay Leno’s Garage takes viewers on YouTube into the world of the ultimate tractor. This time, Leno reviews a tractor. And not any tractor. It’s the Case IH Quadtrac, a true beast on wheels. It’s kind of.

The Quadtrac is one of three large Case tractors that feature all-wheel drive. The video shows a 6-cylinder, 12.9-liter common rail diesel engine, with a 2-stage turbo. It can travel up to 23 mph (37 km/h) on the roads.

The tractor’s best feature is its independent four-track design. This unique design eliminates slippage between track and drive wheel, making the tractor extremely quiet and smooth when driving on asphalt. Despite its size, it ensures a turning radius only 165 inches (4.2 metres). The stopping power is provided by hydraulic disc brakes within the axles.

Case claims that the Quadtrac has the most spacious cabin in the business with 360-degree visibility. Both the cabin and the driver’s seat have their suspension systems. The optional leather seat will also provide heating and ventilation functions. The cabin’s noise level is a mere 68 dB (A), which is roughly equivalent to the noise in a premium sedan traveling at 81 mph (130 km/h). Standard equipment includes an A-pillar instrument display, automatic temperature control, and a touchscreen display that displays the functions of the tractor.
