Leno displays one of his rare finds from his famed garage: a pick-up vehicle that is faster than any Ferrari.
Jay Leno invites us back into his garage and shows us one his rare finds. This is the 1991 GMC Syclone.
The Sylcone was available in black only. Only 3,000 Sylcones were ever produced. It was based on the GMC Sonoma pickup truck. The car featured a turbocharged 4.3-liter V6 engine that produced around 280 horsepower (209 kW/ 284 PS), but it is likely to produce much more. It was connected to a 4-speed automatic transmission gearbox that transmitted power to an all-wheel drive system.
According to Car & Driver the Syclone had a sprint time of 4.3 seconds from 0-60 mph (96 km/h). This was in 1991, making it the fastest stock pickup truck in existence.
The GMC Typhoon, which was based upon the GMC Jimmy, was born from the Syclone between 1992 and 1993. This was a more practical version that was available in different colors and larger numbers, but still less than 4,700 units.
